Born on June 27, 1960 in the Soviet Union in Ivanovo

Education and academic carrier

1977-1982 – Student of Ivanovo Institute of Chemical Technology (currently Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology, ISUCT). In 1982 received Diploma with Honour as Engineer with specialisation "Chemical technology of organic dyes and by-products". Thesis "Kinetic study of transition metals complexation with tetraazaporphyrins " (supervisor prof. O. G. Khelevina).
1982-1985 - Post-graduate at the Department of Organic Chemistry (supervisor prof. B. D. Berezin). In 1985 defended the dissertation "Acid-base and coordination properties of tetraazaporphyrins, their functional derivatives and their complex compounds" and received the scientific degree "Candidate of Chemical Sciences" (PhD degree) with specialisation in Organic and Physical Chemistry.
1991 – Academic Title – Docent (Organic Chemistry).
2004 –The scientific degree “Doctor of Chemical Sciences” (D.Sc.) in Organic and Physical Chemistry was received after presentation of the habilitation thesis “Synthesis, structure and physico-chemical properties of azaporphyrins and porphyrazines”.
2013 – Academic Title – Professor (Organic Chemistry).
Academic positions
1986- joined the Faculty of the Ivanovo State Academy of Chemical Technology (currently ISUCT) as assistant of the Organic Chemistry Department
1988-1992 - Deputy Dean of the Organic Chemistry and Technology Faculty.
1989-2004 - docent (associate professor) at the Department of Organic Chemistry
Since 2004 - professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry, in 2011-13 also professor at the Department of Macromolecular Chemistry.
Research Fellowship and collaborations
1987 – Post doctoral fellow by Prof. L. Latos-Grazynski in the Institute of Chemistry at the Univesity of Wroclaw (Poland).
1992-1994 – DAAD Research Fellowship by Prof. H. Homborg in the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel (Germany). The collaboration with Prof. H. Homborg remained active for many years.
1995 - Research Fellowship from "Consiglio Nazionale della Richerce" by Prof. C. Ercolani in the Institute of Inorganic and General Chemistry at the University of Rome "La Sapienza The scientific collaboration with Prof. C. Ercolani and his research group continues. Since 2000 - visiting professor of the University of Rome "La Sapienza"
Current scientific interests: synthesis, coordination and acid-base properties chemistry of azaporphyrins and porphyrazines, especially analogues of phthalocyanine bearing fused five-, six- and seven-membered heterocycles instead of benzene rings.
Scientific publications: 4 monographs (as a chapters), 8 review articles, 104 experimental articles, and 2 patents. More than 150 oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences.
Other scientific activities:
-          Symposium co-organiser at the International Conferences on Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines (ICPP-3, New Orlean, USA, 2004; ICPP-4, Rome, Italy, 2006; ICPP-5, Moscow, Russia, 2008)
-          since 2008 - Deputy Editor of the scientific journal “Macroheterocycles”
